Our Story

On August 9, 1986, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. chartered the Brazos Valley Area Alumnae
30THANN_chapter5(BVAA) chapter to serve the communities of Brazos County and the neighboring six counties. Twelve charter members started their mission of public service and sisterhood with great passion. From those humble beginnings, BVAA has been an advocate for social action, education, and economic empowerment in the Bryan/College Station community and beyond. Representing a sisterhood of college education women, BVAA has initiated programs such as the Annual Martin Luther King (MLK) March, Delta Academy/GEMS, Soul Food Luncheon and countless other programs to enhance the well-being of residents in the Brazos Valley. The chapter has also granted over $25,000 in scholarships to deserving high schools students.
